D-Day

This week was all about the demolition of everything we DON'T want in the house.

Master Bedroom

A huge room with lots of potential. Currently, the master bathroom is split between the shower/toilet area and a vanity and sinks in the open area. We are reconfiguring this space to one grand master suite as well as a separate walk-in closet area.

A large closet takes up the entire opposite wall of the master bedroom. This is being removed to expand the livable space. #ilovethismasteralready

Kim punching a hole in the wall!

Closets are now gone and as an added bonus peeking above the drywall is the original brick! We are looking at leaving exposed brick on the back wall. #mcmcharacter

Main Bathroom

The main bath is not having any configuration changes but will be completely remodeled.

New vanity, tub, and tiled surround coming soon!

New Pathway from Entrance

The first bedroom is right off the main entrance. Today if you are staying in this bedroom, you must walk through the kitchen to get to the main bathroom. We are removing the front hall closet and expanding the opening to accommodate easier access from the front of the house to the bathroom.

No longer looking at a closet when you enter the house!

Kitchen & Dining

We are leaving the kitchen cabinets. They are solid wood and unique! Simply adding new black handles on the cabinets will make them more on-trend. The current countertop is way too busy for the cabinets, so we will be replacing it as well as adding a simple backsplash to tie it all together.

The dining area has an old pantry/closet that we are removing (bifold doors on the left). The plan is to build a comfy little nook for reading as well as a wine/bar area.

The wall of doors/windows will be replaced with a full glass accordion door (if budget allows). Just imagine the indoor/outdoor living this will provide!

Here is our Realtor, Katie Baccus, taking a hammer to the wall. Go Katie!

Next up is floor removal, the rebuilding of walls and bathroom remodels!
