The Impact of Sandblasting

This was the week! The house has now been sandblasted and we are very happy with the results. If you ever need anything sandblasted, I strongly recommend Steve from Ace Sandblasting. They've been amazing to work with. Steve does a great job walking you through the process to ensure you get the results you're looking for.

The upper triangular peachy piece you see in the middle picture will be replaced with stained slats of wood. The fascia will be painted a dark gray (to match the stucco) and the soffits will be white. New windows and a front door are also coming.

We ran into a surprise with the fence. Sigh..... Similar to the addition, the stucco here seems to be super-glued in place. Removing it, even with sandblasting, proved to be next to impossible. #thislookhastogo 🤦‍♀️

Our next best option is to have the fence smooth stuccoed like the rest of the house. Sadly, my dream of restoring the breeze block is not going to happen. 😫

We will most likely paint the fence wall white and to break up the monotony, I've found some inspiration that I think would look great on a few of the back panels.

Here are some more pictures of the now removed stucco from the backyard patio area. We also had them sandblast the paint off the solid wood beams. Once the peach trim is all painted dark gray it's going to look great!

Here is a before and after for the master bedroom feature wall. It's hard to tell from the picture, but all the adhesive glue is gone and the edges are much smoother. To soften the look the entire wall will be trimmed in stained wood.

I will do another post later this week, but here's a sneak peek at the work Gary has been doing in our Master Bathroom.
