The Waiting Game

I haven't had much to blog about because we are awaiting our windows and interior/exterior door installation. Thanks to COVID it's taking longer than anticipated. I have been asked what we have been up to, so here is a quick update.

Master

If you remember, we decided to leave the original brick exposed as a feature wall. As always, with renovations, there are surprises. Turns out that behind some of the drywall there were holes punched in the brick for electrical. You can't patch brick, so we used stained wood and built out a frame.

There will be white baseboards around the entire room and the old paned french door is being replaced with a new white framed slider.

We are really pleased with the way the ensuite turned out. I'm happy I took advantage of the mixed metal trend. I love the hint of brass on the vanity handles and lighting. We are still awaiting the shower glass for the pony wall, but other than that and some baseboards we are done!

Exterior

We've started on the exterior of the house. Gary stained all the wood on the new decorative trim and we added a new exterior light. We have big plans for the exterior, but it most likely will not be completed until the fall.

The back fence has now been completely re-stuccoed and Gary has begun building his shed. As with the front yard, landscaping has been thought through, but won't be completed until the fall, along with the pool retro-fit.

Office

And finally, my new office feature wall has been completed. I love how it turned out!

Hopefully, my next blog post will include the windows and at least some of the doors. 🤞
